Two weeks ago the Rockies were just an also-ran in the N.L. Playoff picture, but n incredible surge since has put them on the cusp of not only a postseason berth, but a division title as well. Tonight, Colorado plays another key game when it closes a three-game set vs. the Dodgers, and is priced as a 120 road favorite.

The Rockies look to extend their franchise-record winning streak to 11 games and boost their playoff chances as they conclude their final road trip Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Colorado (86-72) beat Los Angeles 2-0 on Wednesday for its club-record 10th straight victory. The Rockies are a franchise-best 14 games over .500 and tied with Philadelphia, just one game behind San Diego in the NL wild card race with four games remaining.

The Rockies have been doing it at the plate and on the mound during their current run that has also vaulted them within two games of division-leading Arizona in the West. Colorado will host the Diamondbacks for a final series starting Friday.

Rookie Franklin Morales (2-2, 3.15 ERA) will make his eighth start for the Rockies on Wednesday. He has not allowed a run over his last 17 innings of his last three starts while going 2-0.

The 21-year-old left-hander allowed one hit in six scoreless innings, but didn't factor in a 2-1, 14-inning victory at San Diego on Friday.

Morales made his major league debut against the Dodgers, allowing a run in 5 1-3 innings, but didn't factor in a 7-4, 14-inning Colorado road victory on Aug. 18.

Los Angeles will counter with Esteban Loaiza (1-3, 8.53), who looks to avoid losing his fourth straight decision.

Loaiza allowed six runs and five hits in four innings of a 12-3 loss at Arizona on Friday to fall to 0-3 with a 11.25 ERA in his last three starts since posting his first win with Los Angeles on Sept. 3.

The right-hander is 4-3 with a 6.28 ERA in 11 games -- 10 starts -- against Colorado.
